Overview of Technology & Quality Control Measures
Quality Control Measures:

Altview utilizes digital fingerprinting technology which is integrated directly into our system.

The purpose is to detect and block duplicate responses to a survey from a single device. Whether a respondent has multiple accounts with a single panel or several accounts across multiple panels; it is our responsibility to allow only a single response to a survey from a particular device/machine.

There is no charge for this functionality and our clients have nothing additional to do to ensure this is in place.

Altview utilizes this technology for all projects unless specifically directed by our client not to. It is integrated directly into our survey traffic processing server and there is no additional redirecting to third-party servers. All of the detection and blocking takes place on one site to eliminate delays, potential interruptions, or URL tampering.

We look at variables passed by the respondent’s browser and assign a unique identifier to that device/machine. The identifier is saved for each response to a survey. If a respondent attempts to enter the same survey from a device which has already finished the survey, that respondent is blocked from entering the survey and recorded in the tool. The tool also utilizes browser cookies as additional security, but disabling or clearing the cookies will not disable the functionality.
Included are the following security features to ensure sample quality:

Geographical IP filtering (block traffic from restricted countries)

Hash codes to detect URL tampering

Ability to stop/start traffic to a survey

Separate testing URLs per partner

Import client IDs to generate exception reports (mismatched ids/status)

Pass through URL parameters to or from partners (DMA, language, etc.)

Generate hourly or daily project status emails to Project Managers

Ability to route respondents to surveys based on qualifying criteria
